Inceptor expands its Sport Utility Ammo lineup, debuting new caliber offerings in .223 and 7.62×39.
The new cartridges join The Inceptor Sport Utility Ammo series which already boasts 9mm, .40 S&W, .45 ACP, .38 Special and .300 BLK. The Sport Utility Ammo touts lead-free injection-molded copper-polymer projectiles packed into high-quality brass cases.
Inceptor says the ammunition is unique because it has been “ballistically matched” to offer similar recoil and point of aim as Inceptor’s Preferred Defense Self-Defense series.
“This means shooters will experience the exact shooting experience while training with Inceptor Sport Utility Ammo as they will when using the award-winning Inceptor Preferred Defense Self-Defense ammunition,” the company explained in a statement.
The .223 and 7.62 offerings will come in a Short-Range Rifle, or SRR, profile with frangibility that allows it to be fired against hardened steel at close distances.
The 7.62 Sport Utility Ammo will ship in 20 round boxes while .223 Remington comes in either 20, 50 or 500 round offerings. The new cartridges are expected to start shipping in spring. No pricing information has been released as of yet.
