The Pros and Cons of Aluminum Framed Handguns

Many years ago The late Skeeter Skelton shot a new aluminum frame Colt Commander until it failed. It digested over 5000 rounds of hardball ammo before a crack appeared on the frame. It was still functional but he chose to stop the test at that point.

Great write up Bob. I carried a Combat Commander working the streets of Detroit, and it saved my life twice. Also had a Glock 21 Gen 1, compared to Colt it is blocky, the trigger pull is a long arc and it is heavy. The Colt is elegant, slim, perfectly balanced.

Top Cops Opposing Concealed Carry — Did yours make the list?

I live in Houston and in one of the most liberal areas with a moderate crime rate. Yep the mayor and local politicians are pretty left. But many of my friends are HPD and all of them appreciate permitted citizens and 2A rights.

Let’s not forget commissar andy actually thinks ny’s SAFE act really refudes crime. Kudos to Hornady. any financial institutions–or any other firearms related business–with a pair big enough to stop doing business with ny state? Anyone know why one institution paid $7 million in penalties because they were offering insurance in case of a ccw defensive shooting? Cuomo’s one reason my wife & I decided enough was enough and moved to florida last fall. If andy can run for governor again remember this the next election cycle–idiots shouldn’t be in charge!

Top Cops Opposing Concealed Carry — Did yours make the list?

For all those who believe that this is a comprehensive list, it is NOT. It’s merely a letter signed at the “International Police Chiefs” convention. Some states may not have even been represented and it’s quite likely that the views of the group are skewed, depending on the public position of the organization. It’s also worthy to note that while the “chief” signed he probably holds a view opposite most of his street cops. It’s also worth a mention that some on the list are “retired” “officer” ect. meaning anyone there could sign. I don’t know what the attendance numbers were but this seems like a very small percentage of attendees.

I never served active duty but I can tell you that I find nothing more inspiring than the men who served in combat throughout the years and the many stories of their heroics armed only with a 1911.

I own a Nighthawk 1911 in .45acp and it is a pleasure to bring to the range. The gun itself raises my ability to a whole new level.

Every single gun and ammo manufacturer and supplier should cut ties with the state of New York, especially sales to their law enforcement. Leave them high and dry. Then see what their stance is after a few months.

It is very sad that the guns and ammunition made this country and provide the security to keep the world at bay. But made all these Governor’s,Senator’s,Congressional people all rich and now they turn on us We the People and the Constitution. I am a big supporter of Hornaday I am keeping the oldest tradition of reloading alive it built this Country. So as far and as long as I can find there ammo I will still teach the 7 grandchildren I have to buy and shoot Hornady ammo. Now let’s vote these people out of office.

I’m an upstate New York resident, a caregiver for an elderly parent who insists on staying here. Were it not for this, I’d be out of here in a heartbeat. This is the same governor who just gave violent felons the right to vote. In 2014 he gave us that 80 page run- on sentence and abomination called the “Safe Act” which bans “dangerous knives” and “assault weapons” including collectibles like the M1 Garand. The act bans internet and mail ammo, and prohibits childless and spouseless gun owners like me from willing my gun collection to brothers on my death. Cuomo said, “Everyone is welcome in New York except Tea Party members, 2nd Amendment supporters, and pro-lifers. So nothing Mr. Cuomo says surprises me. He’s a certified bully.

YETI Drops NRA — A Knee-Jerk Political Reaction?

Wow, $150 million in goods, that’s going to leave a mark and a lasting impression. Hopefully the CEOs of other firms will take notice.
