ASOTIN – The award-winning crime prevention and personal safety seminar, Refuse To Be A Victim^®, will be held on October 8, 2025, at Asotin County Fire District #1. The program will run from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and is open to teenagers and up. This course is free of charge for anyone with an interest in learning crime prevention strategies.

This is NOT a gun class or a class on the Second Amendment. It is a program sponsored by the NRA focused specifically on personal safety and empowering individuals to prevent victimization. The seminar emphasizes practical techniques and awareness strategies to help participants recognize potential threats and learn how to Refuse To Be A Victim in various situations. The goal is to equip attendees with knowledge and skills to enhance their personal security, independent of firearm use or firearm rights.

Developed in response to nationwide requests for crime prevention seminars, Refuse To Be A Victim teaches methods to avoid dangerous situations and prevent criminal confrontations. Seminar participants will be presented with a variety of common‑sense crime prevention and personal safety strategies and devices that may be integrated into their personal, home, automobile, telephone, technological, and travel security.

Since 1993, Refuse To Be A Victim has been endorsed by law enforcement members throughout the United States for its positive impact. With more than 5,000 instructors, seminars have been held in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and other countries.
