An armed citizen who saw a suspect allegedly shooting at police in Fresno, California, on Tuesday evening pulled out his handgun, took aim, and fired, driving the suspect to the ground.
Fox 26 News reports the suspect crashed his car after being pursued by police. The pursuit was the result of the suspect allegedly refusing to pull over after police spotted him speeding.
After crashing, the suspect allegedly exited his vehicle with a shotgun, and fired at police.
As the suspect began to flee on foot a citizen with a concealed carry permit drew his handgun and shot at the suspect, “making him fall to the ground.”
The suspect then hopped back up and began running, only to be tackled by a second bystander.
The Fresno Bee reports that “the suspect was injured from being shot. He had wounds on his upper chest.”
No officers were hurt.
