White Sox are ‘great pretenders’: Watching the White Sox/Yankees series in Chicago was like watching boys playing men. The Sox are what they are: the great pretenders. Go out and pay for proved pitchers. Tony has to go. The game has changed. Get some fresh blood that wants to win. Their fans deserve better.
Hanging on by a thread: There’s a war going on in Ukraine that may yet spread to all of Europe, Vladimir Putin continues to threaten the use of nuclear weapons and the earth is melting faster than an ice sculpture in July. What’s more, California has no water and grocery stores have empty shelves where baby formula once resided. And yet we’re all pre-occupied with the latest quote from Phil Mickelson or who’ll be the next shady politician to be endorsed by Donald Trump. Is it any wonder our once thriving democracy is now hanging by a thread?
Sheep and wolves: Here’s a takeoff from a quote in the New York Times. People are often like sheep in danger of serious harm, when wolves are protected and even given freedom to continue their harm to the herd. We can equate that to the Biden’s Democratic administration right now.
Chicago tourism: Summer has begun. The young thugs are downtown battling with police in Millennium Park. This is going to be a very interesting season for the tourists and people that want to go downtown to enjoy the shows and the restaurants. My advice stay home or go to the suburbs. Chicago is now like Detroit and Cleveland.
Another bad suggestion: Does anyone really think that an excess profit tax imposed on oil companies would not be passed directly on to the consumer? All that would do is raise the price of gas even more. The policies of the guy the Democrats defend raised gas prices, halted oil and gas leases on federal lands and waters, canceled the Keystone XL pipeline, suspended oil and gas leases in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and in New Mexico and rejoined the Paris agreement resulting in new costly regulations for oil companies.
Ukraine tax deduction: I just saw on TV where the United States is proposing $40 billion for Ukraine training and aid. OK, I’ll go along with that. Just tell me how much of that $40 billion is mine because I’d like to deduct that on my income tax for next year.
Make America the priority: Let’s see, more aid to Ukraine but no money to the U.S. Southern border. Also, we have shortages here, farmers with fertilizer and supply chain issues, rising inflation and mothers facing extreme problems getting baby formula for their infants. Biden’s priorities, certainly not here in the USA. This global administration has to get the boot now.
CEO salaries to blame: They blame record inflation on supply chains, worker shortages, wages and expense costs. Yeah, right. Because the tens of millions they’re already being paid isn’t enough. CEO pay packages, in 2021, rose on average almost 20%. It’s a kick in the teeth to everyone struggling to pay for essentials. Even worse, they just don’t care. Never have. Never will. It’s just more painful right now.
Buffalo tragedy: So, the 198th mass shooting of the year just happened in Buffalo, New York. Just keep cranking out those guns, you manufacturers and NRA, keep sticking up for your Second Amendment rights. Let’s see how that’s working out. And Republicans, keep blocking any sensible gun control. Maybe we’ll break a record. I think that’s what you’d all like because that’s how you’re acting by not doing anything. This country is nuts over guns.
