The Republican Party’s insidious relationship with the Russian-backed NRA has an unfathomable American body count, and President Biden has had enough.
As long as the money beneath the viscera of dead children is still green once it’s laundered, the so-called pro-life party will look anywhere but right at the problem when it comes to actually keeping Americans alive.
Three nine-year-olds and three adults were killed on Monday at Nashville’s Covenant School, which is a private Christian school, by a shooter identified as a transgender man, who was also killed at the scene.
The right-wing gun lobby immediately seized on the shooter’s gender identity as the reason for yet another mass school shooting in a country where getting an AR-15 is easier than obtaining a license to practice as an esthetician.
President Joe Biden has more than officially had it with the Guns Over People party, and in the wake of the Nashville shooting, he expressed his anger as he can barely do more legally than order flags at half-staff to honor the innocent victims of GOP greed.
President Biden spoke to reporters on the press line before taking off on Marine One on Tuesday, saying he’s already used his executive authority to address the gun issue by demanding that Congress pass meaningful gun legislation he can sign into law.
“The Congress has to act,” President Biden said. “The majority of the American people think having assault weapons is bizarre; it’s a crazy idea. They’re against that. And so, I think Congress should be passing the assault weapons ban.”
Yes, Mr. President, there are a lot of “shoulds” when it comes to passing gun laws in this country, starting with kids who SHOULD be able to come home alive every day after school.
But Republicans don’t care about keeping kids alive, they only care about their bank accounts. Thoughts and prayers didn’t keep a shooter out of a Christian school.

Or a church.
Or a mosque.
Or a temple.
IT’S THE GUNS.
And while Democrats don’t want to take anyone’s guns away no matter how much propaganda they spread, we’d all really appreciate it if everyone acted like responsible gun owners instead of cowards who are fine with people killing other people.
House Dems Vice Chair Ted Lieu calls GOP “cowards” for canceling gun hearing a day after Nashville school mass shooting:
“If they honestly believe, as they say, that arming more Americans… would make us safer, they would’ve held the hearing… They ran away, and they’re hiding.” pic.twitter.com/vLXf4EUd8P

Translation: We don’t give a f*k that your kids are being murdered in record numbers.
…we don’t care that firearms are the leading cause of death in Children and teens aged 1-19.
…we don’t care that the Nashville shooter shot out the glass doors pic.twitter.com/nRazSkctnb…
