The Second Amendment is the most important amendment. Without it, we would have no freedom of speech, no free press and no freedom of association. The Founding Fathers did not intend for it just to be about hunting. James Madison once said, “Disarm the people, that is the best and most effective way to enslave them.” Every tyrant wants the populace unarmed so there would be no resistance to their agenda.
It’s clear the Democrats are planning to come after our guns as they openly talk about banning “assault weapons” and have promoted a law prohibiting the sale of “semi-automatic weapons holding over 15 rounds.” Four years ago, Beto O’Rourke openly called for gun-grabs, and it appears this has become the mainstream position for the Democrats. It’s time to elect Republicans who will not cower as the left tries to take away this constitutional right.
We have one here in Strasburg, and that’s John Massoud. John is a member of the NRA, Gun Rights of America and the Virginia Citizens Defense League.
On the Strrasburg Town Council, he helped make our town a Second Amendment sanctuary and is committed to standing up to gun grabbers. If elected in November, Massoud will be the 21st vote in the state Senate to repeal red-flag laws.
If you want your Second Amendment rights protected, vote on June 20, then again Nov. 7 so we can get a stalwart Second-Amendment defender and the vote needed to repeal unconstitutional gun laws.
