Endorsed by failed vice presidential candidate Gov.Tim Walz (D-MN), Hogg vowed to fight against the Republican Party and Americans’ Second Amendment rights. He promised to make “school shooter drills history and not headlines” despite not acknowledging that people are the ones who pull the trigger, not the guns themselves. 

“Who’s ready to take the fight to the Republicans and win this thing? Are you guys ready to fight?” Hogg asked in his speech. “It’s been a long day, but guess what? We have a long road ahead. Let’s go and kick some a**. Let’s go win our young people back, and let’s stop sending just our thoughts and prayers to address gun violence and do something. Are you ready to do that? Because together, we can make school shooter drills history, and not headlines. Are you ready to do that?”

The 24-year-old anti-Second Amendment woke Democrat promised to take on the National Rifle Association (NRA). He also expressed his frustration with former President Joe Biden regarding his handling of gun reform in the United States. He has been an outspoken critic of prominent Republicans, who he has accused of being in the pocket of the NRA, calling for the removal of lawmakers who accept the groups’ funding. However, many Republicans see Hogg as an out-of-touch young kid who is from everyday America. His criticism of the status quo, especially when it comes to gun rights, is seen as an attack on values many conservatives hold. 

If Hogg is the Democrat’s plan to take back America, oh boy, are they in for a rude awakening. Have they not learned from the Kamala Harris fiasco?
