United States: Three additional detainees from the notorious group of ten who brazenly fled a New Orleans detention facility earlier this month have now been reined in by law enforcement, marking a partial success in a high-stakes chase that spanned state borders.
One of the fugitives found himself in handcuffs once again in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, subdued by local enforcement units. The other duo met a similar fate in Walker County, Texas, courtesy of swift coordination among regional authorities. Louisiana State Police disclosed these apprehensions via a public bulletin on X.
Despite these developments, two escapees still remain beyond the grasp of the law. Officials have yet to divulge further particulars surrounding Monday’s captures.

The initial escape, which took place under the veil of night on May 16, bore the hallmarks of an orchestrated prison break. Exploiting a defective cell door, the men crept through a breach behind a lavatory fixture, clambered over a spiked perimeter fence, and vanished into the nocturnal hush, according to NPR.
Their flight went unnoticed until hours later, discovered only during a morning roll call. Left behind as a brazen calling card was graffiti scrawled with the phrase “To Easy LoL” and an arrow mocking the very path they took to liberty.
Authorities at both the city and state levels have since pointed fingers at an array of security breaches that paved the way for the escape.

The latest detainees recaptured—Lenton Vanburen, Leo Tate, and Jermaine Donald—join five others previously reclaimed: Dkenan Dennis, Corey Boyd, Gary C. Price, Kendell Myles, and Robert Moody. These men had been confined while awaiting verdicts or sentencing tied to severe offenses, some as grave as homicide.
Following the breakout, a facility maintenance worker was detained under suspicion of deliberately disabling the toilet’s water system—an act allegedly done under coercion from one of the inmates. His tampering, officials say, was instrumental in enabling the escape, as reported by NPR.
Moreover, four other individuals now face charges for purportedly offering assistance to the fugitives during their period at large.
